KosEd and the Pedagogical Institute of Kosovo Launch Training on School Textbook Review

The European Union-funded project "Support to Basic and Upper Secondary Education" (KosEd), in partnership with the Pedagogical Institute of Kosovo, has initiated a series of training sessions designed to enhance teachers' capacities in textbook review and development.


These sessions, conducted over the weekend, included participation from educators in the following municipalities:

  • Kamenica

  • Lipjan

  • Prizren

  • Rahovec

  • Istog

  • Podujeva

  • Skenderaj


Program Objectives

The training aims to support the professional growth of teachers by equipping them with skills essential for textbook review and improvement. This initiative contributes to the overall enhancement of education quality in Kosovo and supports teachers in meeting requirements for relicensing and career advancement.


Program Highlights

The "Capacity Building of Teachers for the Review and Improvement of School Textbooks" program is officially approved by the State Council for Teacher Licensing under the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI).


Training Modules Include:

  1. Principles and methodology for textbook review and improvement

  2. Criteria and descriptors for textbook review

  3. Text analysis and data reporting


The program, supported by MESTI, Municipal Education Directorates, and the KosEd project, empowers teachers to take an active role in the review and selection of school textbooks. It reflects a collaborative effort to improve teaching materials and educational resources in Kosovo.
